The Walks

Our walks normally last 2 hours and cost £75 for a group of up to 8 people.  The Pilgrims Way walk which is linear and therefore involves extra time travelling to the start costs £85

We charge extra for larger groups, a system we introduced to keep our walks affordable for small family groups which we see a lot of.  The extra charge is £5 per person over 8.

We can offer longer (and sometimes shorter) walks and have successfully entertained groups all day.

All our walks are tailored to your interests and requirements.  The walks shown below will always be adapted to what you want or a new walk devised to meet the bill.

Sand dune and shore

This walk goes to the far shores on the eastern side of the island "far from the madding crowd".  The sand dunes are carpeted with a succession of bright flowers throughout the summer and the shores attract lots of birds and seals.  Stunning scenery is a given.

The pilgrims way

This is our only linear walk (as opposed to circular) and we walk across the sea bed from the mainland to the priory at Holy Island.  You will be following in the footsteps of St Aiden and Cuthbert and we'll cover the history of the famous celtic priory en route.

The harbour walk

This shorter walk is packed with so much - celtic christian history, rare whin grassland, the fishing industry, geology and navigation.  Not forgetting wildlife in abundance including seals.

Celtic christianity

This shorter walk follows the trail of the early celtic christian priory which was so important in the eighth century.  There's been some exciting digs here over the last  four years which are increasing our knowledge and understanding.
