Holy Island Holiday Let

Latest News from Holy Island Holiday Let

Our cottage is now fully let for the summer. Unless there is a cancellation there is no more availability. Holy Island is tentatively coming to life again with more visitors appearing each day but its still lovely and quiet.

Corona virus is playing havoc with the travel industry (my holiday has just been cancelled). The effects of the virus are likely to rumble on all summer so how can you get a safe and secure holiday?

Hire a self catering cottage on a remote island where there's plenty to do without getting close to anyone but your family.

Get a supermarket grocery delivery and spend your time sitting on the beach or in the garden, walking on shore or sand dune, paddling in the sea and all with fantastic views and other sensory experiences such as seals singing.

We are currently in lockdown on Holy Island and not receiving visitors but will be taking bookings for the summer holidays as soon as the government give the green light.

Holiday on Holy Island

Visiting Holy Island for the day is a great experience. But it's even better to stay for a few days. When the tide comes in the day visitors disappear and you experience the true peace and tranquility of the island. Our holiday let offers one of the best places to stay. It's in an old, traditional part of the village. It's a traditional fisherman's cottage from the eighteenth century but fully refurbished with a large modern extension. The picture windows/doors and balcony at the back offer stunning sea views to the castle, harbour and farne islands.

Our holiday let has three bedrooms, two double and one single all with great views. The large kitchen/diner is in the old part of the house and has a beamed ceiling. The large living room has a glass wall with door leading down steps to the sheltered, mature garden. The main bathroom downstairs has a walk in shower. The single bedroom is also downstairs. There is an internal step from the kitchen so the house is not suitable for wheelchairs.

Upstairs there are two double bedrooms. The balcony bedroom leads out to the balcony with the best views ever. The loft bedroom, in the old part of the house has oak beams, an en-suite with bath and over the bath shower and two windows looking over farmland to the north shore.

It's a traditional fishermans cottage from the front.

and a two story modern house which catches the sun and the views from the back.

The large living room leading to the garden is a suntrap.

The kitchen/ diner is well equipped.

The balcony bedroom opens out onto the balcony with a panoramic view.

The loft bedroom has old oak beams.

The single bedroom, downstairs, also has sea views.

In high season we offer a minimum of seven nights with Saturday the preferred changeover day. The standard charge is £140/day though this will increase on Bank Holidays. Generally a week that includes a bank holiday will be £150/day.

There is space at the front door for one car. Please do not intrude on the neighbours space - there is just enough room for each house. Extra cars can be parked on the road at the gable end.

We welcome one well behaved dog. Please keep your dog downstairs where there is hard flooring and do not let them on the soft furnishings.
